who started her career as a model, has acted in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil and Hindi. She started her acting career with Malayalam film Kaicha. She has starred in 18 Malayalam movies. She has acted with popular Malayalam actors like Mammootty, Mohanlal, Sureshgopi and Jayaram.
Padmapriya, famous for her intense roles in Tamil movies like Pookisham, Satham Podathey, Thavamai Thavamirundhu and Mirugam, says that she always prefers the significance of her role in the story.
Padmapriya said that she played versatile roles in both of the Malayalam films she has done in recent time. Answering a question she said that she does not want to stick to perform the roles that could fetch awards. The charming beauty is also preparing for her law exams due in November.
The awards and accolades coming her way should have made her happy, but the actress is peeved with the state awards. In a recent interview, Padmapriya said, "I just cannot fathom the criteria and the eligibility for awards as there is an ocean of difference between the state and national awards. I'm not sad because the National Awards slipped out of my hands as I got a special jury mention, which is good enough. But, what hurts me is that there is so much difference in the criteria and yardstick between these two awards."
On her experiences working in Tamil and Malayalam movies simultaneously, Padmapriya says, 'The directors I worked with in both the languages are down-to-earth people who believe in good cinema. So, their attitudes are similar. Their focus is on the story and the film. So, I did not perceive any differences'
